Edit comments

Post by holysjit »

I want that my visitors (and I) can edit their comments. Sometimes I give a comment on someone's entry, and I typed something wrong, but I can't edit it.
Is it possible?

Thanks

Hi!

It's possible, but no plugin exists for this already. Actually it's not so easy to provide this functionality, because ideally only the owners of a comment should be able to edit them.

Would be nice to have this, though.

it seems that wordpress has a feature which allows editing of the comment for 15 minutes after sending.

that would be a great feature in s9y

Hi tomtom!

Yes, I fully agree. It would be nice if someone could have a look on how to implement it. It's just "work", but not really complicated. :)

I would like to edit comments too. When someone puts a URL in, I like to make it a clickable link.

Hi Margaret!

you can do that through the "Comments" interface. This thread is about people editing their own comments, not moderators/admins editing foreign comments, this is already possible.

Thanks, Garvin. That's certainly not how I read holysjit's message above. But anyway, useful.
To edit my own comment with a typo, I copy it, delete it and repost.

Margaret - you do not need to delete a comment. Just go to admin, then select entries -> comments and change any comment that needs to be edited.

Thanks, Don. I obviously misunderstood the poster.
