I have a disconnect, I get scads of registrations and no one leaves comments.
One thing I have been told is that there is way too much dead space between the article and the beginning of comments.

I would like to get rid of all of that if I can and just have ONE blank line before the comment begins. It defaults to threaded which is how I want it for everyone anyway. Or that choice should be put in the comment footer. How would I do that?
Thanx

RJ - take a look at entries.tpl in the bulletproof template. I am fairly certain we eliminated all the blank lines and rely exclusively on css to style the various spaces between elements. That was done a LONG time ago, so my memory is not perfect, but it might help you with whatever template you are using.
We are also using our own custom comments.tpl, commentform.tpl, and commentpopup.tpl.
I guess your options depend greatly on what template you are using. For all I know, you could take care of some of this with css simply supressing the commentform br's. (ie .serendipity_comments br {display:none})

Not sure what you mean.... do you not want each entry to show the number of trackbacks next to where it normally shows number of comments???rj wrote:that helped some! Thanx... Now I would like to get rid of teh TRACKBACKS prompts completely, where would that be done?
RJ
Do you not want it to show trackbacks and the trackback URI above the comments?
These are both located in entries.tpl.... I just need to better understand what you want/do not want.
As far as the field input boxes, you should be able to increase those with css, as strcat mentioned. Any chance of getting your site's url to look at this stuff "live"?
