Hi to all -
I am in the process of moving my serendipity blog to another server, and I have done the download of all my files and FTP'd them to the new server.
However, I am encountering one issue - it will not allow me to download the rather critical file serendipity_config_local.inc.php. It keeps telling me that my "access is denied" to the file.
Does anyone know why this might be and what I can do to fix it? I have a feeling it has to do with the configuration of the current database on the old server - but any and all help would be so appreciated. This is my first server move, and I am having a bit of a learning curve!
Thank you all so very much!
Tara

Hi garvin - just clarifying what I need to do...
First of all, thank you so very much for your answer.
I just need to clarify what I am to do. I read the FAQ stuff, but as I am not a developer (just the owner of the site) I am not too used to doing all of this.
When I see the information about the fixperm.php, here is what I think it is telling me to do:
1. Create a file in my directory called "fixperm.php"
2. Insert that script as the file, changing "path/to/your"(etc) to the physical location of my files on my server.
3. Call up (on the web) http://myblog/serendipity/fixperm.php, and something will come up that will allow me to change the permissions so that I can download the config_local file.
Am I understanding all of that correctly? Sorry if I seem dense - again, this is my first time doing all of this, so I am learning as I go.
And by the way, I think you might be on of the developers of Serendipity - if so, thanks for creating such a great blog software! I love it!
Thanks again for all your help!
Tara
