Download manager - suggestions

Post by Don Chambers »

I'm not sure who is maintaining this plugin, and I do not want to step on any toes by making changes myself, so I would like to make the following suggestions hoping that whomever is maintaining this plugin will consider the modifications:
  • Assign an ID to the entire table.
Add a field for a category description. position it directly under the category name (not under the folder icon).
Add a class to the file description row in the list of files available for a given category. Also add class to the spacer td that preceeds the file description.
There are probably other opportunities to provide classes - either on the rows, and/or on the individual tds, but the ones I mentioned above were things I would style right now given the opportunity to do so.

This next suggestion is potentially a bit more difficult, but I would be willing to help if I could:
  • Replace all images that have white backgrounds with transparent background images.

Hi!

I think Grischa has committed some patches to this, becaus otherwise that plugin is unmaintained.

Unless Grischa wants to mess with it, I can just make the modifications myself. Maybe I'll learn a thing or 2 about plugins!!! LOL!!

Unlikely, the changes are mostly to tpls.... except for the icons.

So what's it going to be Grischa - you, or me?

Just feel free to catch up the code. I already did the changes, I needed. But AFAIR, I already implemented some new css classes, as I needed them, too. Your wishlist should be implemented easy, as it is only a patch in the tpl files. I guess.

I am not the "owner" of the plugin, so there are no toes to step on.

Of course: If you need help, just ask.

Thanks Grischa.... I need to close other s9y matters before I can pick this one up. The tpl updates are a no brainer for me, as are some of the other php revisions.... php is just not something I know much about, so I need assistance when extending existing functionality. Let me get back to you when I have finished other things. Sound like a plan?
