Is there a forum plugin I can use with Serendipity?

I installed the plugin, but then I go to configure plugins and do all the necessary setting up for the forums but when I go to the main page and click on Discussion Forums all I end up seeing is example board. How would a user post a thread etc...am I missing something?

If you're not seeing any buttons on your forum to create new topics, check to make sure the image paths are correct.

All my paths seem to be okay. I can't find a specif path to images in the configuration. That thread does not help me.

Unfortunately I could not wait 3 days for an answer so I switched to another CMS/Blog. Thanks anyway for your response.

I'm sorry then. It was my birthday, which I was celebrating during the weekend; other people also sometimes enjoy a weekend off the PC.

Hey, you guys might remember me from a separate thread regarding my web comic. Since then, it (site maintenance) has gone very well thanks to your great advice.

I have since installed the forums plug-in, since my server host provides forums as a service in part of our agreement. Anyways, I've installed the plug-in and not changed any of the default settings, but cannot for some reason access the forums from the main page when not logged in as an administrator. I was hoping to use the forums as a public area for feedback and to generate a bit more of a crowd and increase comic traffic as a result.

Can anyone give me a hand, I've never worked with this plug-in or anything like it before, and could use a good walk through on what's what. Thanks in advance for all the hard work and tons of help

You need to provide a link to your forum somewhere in your site. Here is the link:

You could use an html nugget plugin for site navigation, or you could use a different template that provides site navigation as an option.

First off, thanks for the help, secondly, I'm glad that the forums works basically how I thought it did

Thirdly, is there a walk through that comes with this plug-in that can be found anywhere?

And lastly, you talk about those nuggets etc.; but I'm kinda a web scripting newbie, can anyone tell me how one might get a bar at the top of the main page that allows people to navigate from there to the forums, the first comic, and to my sketch book? Basically a bar or something that has the links to those four things, but have the word you click on to navigate to them simply say "Forums" or "Sketch book" or "first comic" etc.?

A navbar is a feature of a template. You appear to be using the default template, and a horizontal navbar is definitely not available in that template.... YET! You could either write your own into the structure of your template, or use a template that provides a navbar (for instance, the recently released bulletproof template). You could also just create a menu in the sidebar using the HTML nugget plugin.
