does popfetcher plugin work with hotmail or gmail addresses?

in the username field i have only the username, no '@gmail.com'

that worked for my webiste email address.

I changed the popmail port from 110 to 995 as gmail suggests, no luck.

i have clicked 'enable popmail' on my gmail config screen, no luck.

i use hotmail via outlook express daily. with popfetcher, no luck.

popfetcher will work with my website email address, but i need it to work with free email sites also.

when using gmail with outlook express i must check " my server requires ssl authentication" - not sure if this is part of the problem.

is there a special configuration to do this?

The gmail username requires you to use '@gmail.com'.

The latest popfetcher release seems to have some issues with Serendipity 0.7. This week, a new release of Popfetcher will be put online and into our additional_plugins CVS.
