I have been told that I can create more than one blog with serendipity on metropolis. But HOW? Can you point me to a URL with a method to accomplish this? I have two managers that want to blog to their members. When I setup the first blog, it was self-explanatory but I can't find a way to setup the next blog.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Multiple blogs
Hi!
What's "Metropolis"?
You can only have one single blog with Serendipity. That blog can contian multiple authors or categories, which you can use to distinct your content, though.
If you want to install a completely distinct blog, you need to install Serendipity a second time on its own.
Best regards,
Garvin

Thank you Garvin.
Metropolis is a site on GoDaddy. They provide downloads for different programs that would enhance the client's website. Their tech support led me to believe that I could create different directories which would hold the different blogs with Serendipity but in fairness they did say they don't support anything in Metropolis and that I would need to contact Serendipity.
There is not a way to download Serendipity a 2nd time in Metro, I will try downloading on my local p.c. from your site and see if I can upload to my web with a different directory, although that sounds like a space hog.
On another note, I was hoping your "free" product
would have a viewer widget that I could pop in a viewer password. Always looking for an easy way out!
Thanks again,
Patti

Hi!
Thanks for clarifying on metropolis!
I think that you do need to upload s9y seperately, I'm afraid, if you need another distinct blog, yes.
Sadly I also don't understand what a "viewer widget" is, where you could pop in a viewer password-- do you meant to you want to password protect your s9y blog? The easiest way to do this is to install the "HTTP Auth" plugin (from spartacus.s9y.org) or simply use a custom .htaccess file with HTTP-Auth (if your host supports it).
Another way wouldbe tosimply make all categories only viewable by logged-in authors. This way, people would see no blog postings until they are logged in!
Regards,
Garvin

First, thanks for all your help.
I just threw in "viewer widget" because when I am using my Apple at home everyting is a widget, the reality is I need a member login so that only members can view a particular section of the web; including the blogs. I have been looking at .htaccess code on all search sites like Google but I haven't found the code I am looking for. I don't want each volunteer to have their own login, just one login for all to use. Most of the sites have a registration database, etc.

Hi!
Yeah, for that .htaccess or the mentioned HTTP authentication s9y plugin will do.
For .htaccess pwassword protection see:
http://engr.oregonstate.edu/computing/web/43
(or google for '.htaccess .htpasswd auth"
HTH.
