Poll exclusively in article

Post by bdconnolly »

Sorry if this is someplace in the archives... or worse yet, just a plain dump question.

I want to put a poll exclusively in article, i.e. no sidebar.

So... article (not sidebar) would give users the selection to vote.

Thoughts?

Hi!

You would need to use an external voting script or voting service which offers you to embed javascript/HTML into a posting. Serendipity has no plugin for that yet. :)

Second thought...

Could I use an external php poll app and weave it into an article using the External PHP Application plugin?

Hi!

No, the external application plugin operates on full pages, not single articles.

To weave something into an article, you need to use the Smarty markup plugin and Smarty knowledge. :-)

Or an iframe / javascript, of course.

I think your service option was easier, all things considered.

That works.

All good.

Thanks Garvin.
