Problem exporting entries to xml

Post by JonasBang »

When I choose : Export entries -> Export full RSS feed

It is this link which activates :
http://www.hydraulisktidende.dk/rss.php ... =2.0&all=1

But, that start the 'subscribe to feed' page, instead of the 'dumped to xml'.

It did work earlier today, now it doesn't, and I'm quite sure I didn't touch anything which could have to do with this change in behaviour.

And one question about this feature, is this the only option to back-up the entries, dump them to xml, or are there others ??

The feature worked at my computer at work, and then it stopped working.
Now I just tested from home, and it works fine ???
Strange !!

I'm gonna go mad ... clicked the button once and it worked, so I posted my previous post.

2 minutes later I need to check some details, so I click the button again, and it show the RSS feed subscribe page instead ????

Anybody have similar experience ?? Quite annoying :?

Hi!

The result is a RSS feed! So you need to right-click > Save as!

Ahh ok, I just got confused, that half the times it shows the correct xml file in the browser (e.g. the actual xml code), and otherwise the rss feed subscribe page, but I'll just use 'save as'.
And one question about this feature, is this the only option to back-up the entries, dump them to xml, or are there others ??
Regarding above question, is this how to backup/move the entries, also when it adds up to more than e.g. 1000 ??

Hi!

I don't really know how it comes your browser displays it differently from time to time :-)
Regarding above question, is this how to backup/move the entries, also when it adds up to more than e.g. 1000 ??
The RSS-export is really only containing entries, it does not hodl all categories, authors, any files etc. Depending on your webserver, the size of the RSS export might also be limited.

If you want to make a backup, you should create a SQL dump!
