Good upgrade/install script

I original tried to upgrade to a snapshot last week and managed to screw my blog totally. Anyway I was just about to come to the forums for help when I saw the 0.8 beta2 annoucement. I had backed up my homedir before my failed upgrade so restored the backup, now 0.7 was not working BUT database was ok. I decided to delete the serendipity directory and drop beta2 on. Did an expert install and all my blogs entries survived!!! You guys obviously plan for idiots like me!!!

So thanks for a great blog system with a resilient (idiot proof) install/upgrade system

umm just a guess, wouldn't that be because everything is in the sql database?

Yes. Even though I was doing an install, it upgraded the database rather than create it again.
