How to let User's register themselves directly??

Post by singh_rocky »

Hi
I have just installed WordPress and Serendipity and trying to find out which is better. I could figure out how to give access to people in WP to directly register and post but finding it difficult here.
The only option is that i create a user name for them from admin login. But what i want them to do is directly register and post. Please help!!

Cheers

Hi!

For Serendipity, this functionality for users to register themselve as authors on your blog is provided as an entra plugin.

You can install it using the Spartacus plugin, or manually downloading and unzipping the plugin from here:

http://spartacus.s9y.org/index.php?mode ... s_event_en
(search for "User Self-Registration").

Once you uploaded it to the plugins/ directory (oir installed it automatically using the spartacus plugin) you can go to the s9y plugin panel, click on "Click here to install an event plugin" and choose the uploaded plugin from the list. It has also a sidebar plugin that appears on the frontend of your blog, which you can also install.
