Multiple Blogs

Post by lardygeezer »

Can you have multiple blogs, that is different blogs for diffferent people from one installation or do you need to do a separate insatllation for each blog you want?

Hi!

You can use sub-categories of a single blog so that each author has its own category that can be viewed on the same domain. Different categories can also have different templates and different sets of sidebar plugins, so that's a way to "fakt" multi-blogs.

You can also assign read/write privileges specific to categories to make authors distinct frmo each other.

But this is no "true" multiple blog solution, like MoveableType offers. Depends on what you need exactly.

Best regards,
Garvin

You install the "Properties/Templates of categories" plugin.

Either use SPARTACUS (easiest way), or download the plugin, unzip it, FTP the files to your plugins/ directory, and install it from the "Configure Plugins" link on your admin page.

Once it's installed, you can configure it to specify a template for each category. Any unassigned categories will use the default template.
