Pingback Question

The instructions for pingbacks at THIS location tell me to install the Weblog event plugin to have an option on entries to ping services of a new blog entry. I can't find that plugin. I looked in both Event and Sidebar plugins from my Serendipity Admin/configure plugins/click here to install (I checked both).

The plugin is called "Announce Entries" and can be found in the listing of event plugins.

Thank you. I shall add that to the list of things needing editing in the instructions. It's easier for you experts and programmers to wade through ambiguous instructions, so I suppose that's where I come in--a novice wanting to use and understand the software.

I am also looking for the same plugin as the topicstarter but there is no plugin called "announce entries" or "weblog ping event" on the Spartacus website. (i use spartacus.s9y.org because i can't use the spartacus plugin from my blog) I went through the entire list of plugins three times and i can't find it.

Can someone please verify that it's actually there?

It's not there in the list on the website plugins, but I did find it using the Spartacus plugin. It should be listed under the heading of Backend Editor, but it isn't there on the website list. I thing the boss will fix it for you.

Hi!

"Announce entries" is a plugin that is BUNDLED with Serendipity. It is NOT available on Spartacus, because only additional plugins are listed there.

DOH! How stupid of me!!
Thanks for the answer Garvin, all the time i was looking in the wrong place, never occured to me to look in the bundled plugins

Anyway i found it now, thanks a lot for pointing it out to me
