Hi
Just downloaded Serendipity and already have it up and running - well done.
I had been using BBlog for a couple of days but found difficulty in mod-ding the blog and also incorporating images in the blogs. That is why I changed to Serendipity.
My question is (and forgive me if I do not explain myself well) with BBlog there was a small download that sat on your links bar of the IE and it was called "Press It". When you were surfing the net and came across an article for blogging, you would click the "Press It" and it would save the details as a draft blog for alteration at a later date - one step up from a bookmark.
Is there such a plugin/add on for Serendipity as in the brief time I used it - it was very handy.
How do others collect material for blogging?
Thanks John
Auto-making blogs
It should be possible to create such a bookmarklet, but nobody has done so, as far as I know. You'd probably need the XMLRPC plugin, too. Essentially, it would mean pulling the title, URL, and maybe a summary from the current page, then creating an XMLRPC data packet and sending it to Serendipity.
I'm going to be swamped for a week or two, but this seems like a marvelous idea (ignoring the inherent problems we've seen in XMLRPC). Anybody else want to take it on?

Hi!
Are you maybe looking for something like this:
http://spartacus.s9y.org/bookmarklet.html
I admit, it's somewhat hidden.
Best regards,
Garvin

Hello,
I was passed onto the thread as I asked the question of whether I could blog deviations from DeviantArt on my blog (http://www.squashyfrog.com/blog/). How would I do this exactly by using the Bookmarklet? I've tried a few ways and nothing is working.
What do I do from here...:

...to add, for example, this image, to my blog/:

Hi!
First, on the bookmarklet.html page, enter the URL to your blog in the input box. Then rightclick on the link "Bookmark this link!" link. Add it to your browser bookmark.
Then go to the deviantart page. Then you open the bookmark menu of your browser and choose the bookmark you bookmarked in the bookmarking step 1
Now you should be forwarded to your blog, leaving a link to your original page intact. That's how the bookmarklet is used.
Regards,
Garvin

Hi!
Are you using the WYSIWYG editor? If so, does it work when you disable it?
Is the title of the entry inserted into the title of the entry?
If that doesn't happen either, it might be that your server is running mod_security and filtering the bookmarklet information...?
Regards,
Garvin
