0.7.1 Import RSS

Post by DortoH »

Importing the RSS feed i exported from Blogger and there are a few issues.

With Blogger I republished my blog to a temp location, set the entries per page to 999 and Full entry for the Atom feed. This gave me a xml file with all the entries from my Blogger blog. I then used http://cavedoni.com/2004/02/rss1 to convert the Atom feed to an RSS 1.0 feed :)

Upon importing this RSS feed a few things occured.

1. I marked the import as Draft, but they all got published.

2. I selected to split the entries but they all went to the main body of the entry, I don't know if this is just a length issue, all entries are under 300 words.

Of course this could all be due to the rather complex way I had to go about to export my Blogger blog :P

The RSS import has been polished quite a bit in our recent 0.8 snapshots...maybe you can give that a try?

If that doesn't work as well, maybe you can give me your RSS 1.0 file and I'llt ry to fix it?

Well its no big deal to get it fixed, just an FYI. Most of them lost their formatiing in the conversion(s) so I will just put them in a new archive and put up a link to the archive for now.

However if you want to look at it anyway http://dortoh.ca/rss1.xml

Using Serendipity 0.8 I could import your entries here as Drafts without a problem... :)
