Hello Everyone
I just have made a horrible mistake and I am begging for help.
I use serendipty with a Apache Proxad server (free.fr). I have activated the apache mod_rewrite function and now I dont have any access to the blog. I have the following error :
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Apache/ProXad [Dec 3 2006 11:06:17] Server at xxxxx.free.fr Port 80
Please anyone can tell me how i can get back to a normal use ? Which file do I have to download with my FTP client and what change do I have to make in it to disable URL rewriting again ?
Thank to everyone for your interest in my problem.
Cyril

Re: Disable URL rewriting -> Access problem
Hi!
Simply delete the .htaccess file in your s9y directory (back it up first, though). Then you should be able to relogin to your blog (via serendipity_admin.php) and then you can set the URL Rewriting to "None" again.
Some FTP clients may hide the ".htaccess" file so you might need to try different FTP tools, or maybe even download and use a PHP file manager to browse files on your server directly.
HTH,
Garvin

Hey
Thank you for responding. It's great to be able to count on nice and expert fellows so quickly.
Actually, I figured it out by myself after a long thought. By comparing the links with a s9y blog on another website of mine, I tried to access serendipty_admin via the panel because /serendipity/admin didn't match with anything. And I found that I had to remove the .htaccess file (I checked it and weird things had appeared) to get access to it. I let you imagine my joy. I just had spent hours adding a radio blog with a lot of options in a html nugget, and it would have make me cry if it was for nothing.
It makes me think to something else : I installed the backup plugin. I filled in every box. but it always give errors :
Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: Unable to access /mnt/136/free.fr/e/c/backups in /mnt/136/free.fr/e/c/xxx/serendipity/plugins/serendipity_event_backup/serendipity_event_backup.php on line 836

Do I have to activate something particular in MYSQL database via phpmyadmin ?
It would be great to restore a working version if I keep making so ugly mistakes
.
Thanks again,
Cyril

Hi!
This error seems to stem from the fact that the backup plugins tries to create a directory outside of the 'xxx' directory structure, and it seems you have no write access there.
I don't know much about the backup plugin, does it provide an option to indicate where the backups should be stored?
Best regards,
Garvin
