WYSIWYG editor but plain text posts

Hello,

I've created a blog for my photography site and want to post articles about my training to become a better photographer. I have installed Serendipity with several plugins including 'FCKeditor as WYSIWYG editor'. Firstly, when I created an entry with a bit of formatting (set font to Arial, size to 10pt, a line with bold and underline) and published it, it came out as plain text on my blog, with all the HTML coding. So is this down to the template I use? I've tried several templates and all come out as plain text. Do I need to do anything else to set-up the formatted entries? The instructions for the plugin doesn't mention anything.

Secondly, as I thought it wasn't working, I reinstalled it and now the Edit Entries page uses a plain text editor. I've tried installing 'TinyMCE as WYSIWYG editor' but its still the plain text editor. How do I get my WYSIWYG editor back?

If you need more info from me to help answer my query please let me know? I really would like to get the WYSIWYG editor to work as the whole idea of the blog is to post photos later on.

Hi!

Can it be that you are using the "Wiki Markup" plugin? This one transforms all HTML to escaped HTML and might be your problem.

I assume you did not enter any HTML code within the WYSIWYG window area, but used the WYSIWYG-editor features to create arial font and sizing?

Yes and yes. Yes to the Wiki plugin (OK so I'll turn that off) and yes I used the editor and no HTML.

Also, if I wrote something in Word and pasted it into the WYSIWYG editor, will that cause problems?

Any ideas on how I get the WYSIWYG editor back?

Hi!

Okay, then disabling the Wiki plugin will solve your problem with the 'raw' HTML display.

Pasting Code from Word into your WYSIWYG panel should work fine!

Did you check your "Personal Preferences" and checked if the WYSIWYG editor is still set to "Yes"?

When you use the FCKEditor or TinyMCE, you must also download and setup the paths to the FCKEditor itself by following the instructions of the plugin'S configuration page?
