Spartacus plugin / ... not an object

Post by thedave »

Hi Forum!

I searched the forum for this problem, but could not find this problem. If it has already been discussed, pardon me.

After installing several plugins manually (which worked fine), i decided to try spartacus. After installing i switch to some new templates (which were downloaded automatically).

But when installing plugins, the following error occured:

Code: Select all

serendipity_event_backup:f7d0605f8cef81992fd7674dcd310a7e (online_repository)
DEBUG: Plugin serendipity_event_backup:f7d0605f8cef81992fd7674dcd310a7e not an object: .
Input: Array ( [adminModule] => plugins [pluginPath] => online_repository [install_plugin] => serendipity_event_backup [spartacus_fetch] => [action] => [adminAction] => ) .

This error can happen if a plugin was not properly downloaded (check your plugins directory if the requested plugin was downloaded) or the inclusion of a file failed (permissions?)

(...)

Fatal error: Call to a member function introspect() on a non-object in (...)/blog/include/admin/plugins.inc.php on line 441

I checked the permissions of the plugin/ directory, which were find. Additionally i switched them to 0777. No change.

This problem only occurs at the sidebar-plugin feature. Event-plugins are installing fine.

Any ideas?

Using Serendipity 1.1 with PHP 5.1.1
fopen is activated
globals are off
safe_mode is off
file permissions are set to 777 for the plugins/ dir.

Cheers,
David

Hi!

You write:
This problem only occurs at the sidebar-plugin feature. Event-plugins are installing fine.
However, the message from above is an error-message of installing the Backup event plugin! Are you seeing this plugin in the list of Sidebar plugins?!

Best regards,
Garvin

Hi Garvin, thx for your reply.

This was just an example, all plugins fail to install. The list of my eventbar says:

Code: Select all

Fehler: serendipity_event_backup:f7d0605f8cef81992fd7674dcd310a7e
Perhaps the problem is, that i am trying to install an event-plugin via the sidebar-installer? :?

Hi!

Yes, the problem is that EVENT plugins should not appear in the list of sidebar plugins! I've never heard of that. :-/

Which mirror did you set for your Spartacus plugins? Could you try to delete the *.xml files in the templates_c directory and reload the plugin installing screen?

Best regards,
Garvin

I already did that. :)

And I am using netmirror.org for both xml-list and data files. When using s9y.org the list is much smaller. Yesterday, I thought it was a problem, but now I think it is a problem with netmirror.org.

sidebar:
netmirror.org: 68 Plugins.
s9y.org: 24 Plugins.

event:
netmirror.org: 136 Plugins
s9y.org: 26 Plugins

Even when netmirror.org displays both sidebar and event-based plugins, ... 136 is much more than that?

When I am using just s9y.org as online source, everything works fine (but apparently netmirror has more plugins?)

Hi!

s9y.org actually has no plugins :) It's just for future reference, but currently only Sourceforge.net and netmirror.org are available ones.

68 sidebar and 136 event plugins sounds about right -- and you are sure you have the backup event plugin in the list of sidebar plugins?

Garvin

hi garvin,

unfortunately yes. i have the whole "Backend: Features" tree.

the sidebar installer is using package_event_de.xml, from http://netmirror.org/mirror/serendipity ... ent_de.xml

perhaps a wrong localized xml for my language (de)?

cheers,
david

edit:
i tried the english version... no change

after the first click "Check for new sidebar plugins", everything is fine:
Trying to open URL package_sidebar_en.xml...

when i change the filter to e.g. Frontend: Features he loads the wrong xml...
Trying to open URL package_event_en.xml...

Hi!

Uhm, package_event_de.xml is for event plugins. You need to look into package_sidebar_de.xml?!

Hi dave!

I'd love to fix this, but I'm not able to reproduce this here.

Would it be possible to get temporary FTP access to your blog to debug things? (If so, please send me a PM)

Best regards,
Garvin
