Theme creation

Post by Pete »

Hi everyone!

I'd like to know, if someone could create a theme for me. I already contacted Carl, but I didn't get a reply. Currently I use the theme ceejay01 v1.1 from "his better half" Ceejay. It's a beautiful and professional theme, created with big sense for a good optic look and a touch of herbal life. She did a great job. :o) I'd like to use the theme like it is. So I only need a new header graphic and a different colour. The current colour is yellow. Could somebody integrate a header graphic for me, if I send it via E-Mail? I'd like to have a dark red or bordeaux red, if possible. Can somebody tell me, how much would it be?

Also I would like to know from YellowLed and Carl, if I am allowed to add their websites with a small description to my "Friends" category. Garvin already allowed it. This is currently the only way or possibility I've got to thank Garvin, YellowLed and Carl for their support, competence and politeness. Thank you all, guys. :o)

You're welcome. Feel free to do so, but please make sure that you link to my blog, not to my website. Thanks :)

hi yellowled,

thanks for the permission. I will link directly to your blog, a link to your website wouldn't make sense. since your blog and the websites are 2 totally different projects. so, would somebody be so kind to help me with the themes. also I'd like to know the personal opinion of everyone. I already wrote a personal user and a blog description. now I'd like to change the personal name and the description as well. would it be better to customize all plugins manually or shall I install s9y again from the scratch with all plugins again? I'm absolutely not sure, what to do. does somebody know a solution?

I have to admit I have absolutely no idea what you mean :? You can change the name of the user and also the blog description without having to reinstall, but I don't see the connection to plugins and their configuration ..?

Well, for example. The pdf plugin or the rss-plugins have to be changed to display the new blog title and description correctly. Also the contact form and the guestbook plugin need to be changed to work properly. so i wondered, if it would be better to reinstall everything from scratch. so i wouldn't have to change all plugins manually. but meanwhile I d decided to change everything by hand. instead of installing s9y and the plugins again. it's just takes too much time and therefore I rather reconfigure everything by myself.

I had to find out, where I could change the blog's title and descrption, but now I know. administration - configuration - general settings. there you go. s9y is a real cms system compared to wp. and so few things are still a bit complicated and other ones appear at once. it's a bit difficult, but with a good portion discipline you are able to handle it. :o)

Hi Pete,

Sorry about the email mixup. My current host seems to have some horrible problems with their servers and I can't post to my blog at present. I had to use phpmyadmin just to create my latest entry begging for hosting recommendations. I've now found a new host but its taking time to get everything copied over to their servers.

I'm sure ceejay would be happy to help, but she needs a little bit more information about what you want, she likes of bordeuax red, but do you have a background image that you'd like to put into the header? I'll PM you with ceejay's email address so you and her can sort out your colors.

As for linking to my site, go ahead, I'm always happy when other Serendipity users like me enough to link to me. And you need to make sure you register your own blog in the Serendipity Users directory
