Creating folders doesn't work

Post by breakerke »

Hi,

before i had the admin login problem I posted earlier, I was trying to add a folder to put images in via the admin screen.

However this didn't work; when clicking on "Manage folders" (I think it's like that because I'm using the dutch version :)), I get the page where I can enter a name, choose a base folder and click "Create".
When I fill in a name "Etsen", choose the Base folder and click the button, it says that there are no rights to create that folder.

I have given ALL folders on the ftp where Serendipity is installed, chmod 777 to make sure I can write to all folders... still no joy though...

Any ideas?

Hi!

What exactly is the error message?

You really need to check if the "uploads" directory is fully writable. If PHP reports that no write privileges are available, it really means that. :)
