need help with header

I am trying to put a custom header on my blog and have very little programming experience. The url in which I want to use is www.whatshoppin.com. The blog I want to apply it to is http://www.whatshoppin.com/serendipity/. I tried copying the code from the banner and links from whatshoppin.com and pasted them into the index.tpl file but it did not work. If there is anything you could do for me, I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you

I couldn't see any changes on your blog template so unfortunately I can't tell you what went wrong. Are you able to select your custom template again?
