Hi,
I just had a look at the logfile spamblock.log created by the Spam Plugin I suppose and it is really hard to scan just so.
I think it would be great to have a very simple frontend for the logfile. It would be enough to have a table with all the entries and information as well as the possibility to delete old entries and, in the event it was not real spam, to transform it to a legit comment.
Just an idea.

[Feature Request] Frontend for Spamblock-Log
Since we're having a discussion on that in the German forum: I think it would be great if there was some kind of interface to report false positives to Askimet. As far as I understand http://akismet.com/development/api/, this should be possible in general ..? (Sorry, I'm no developer, so I can't really tell whether it's possible or not
)

Yes, the API says that, if you have an API key, you can submit a comment as "Ham" (as opposed to spam). It even claims to be virtually identical to the call used to check whether a comment is spam or not.
In short, it's not an impossible thing, and probably not even difficult. For a developer with the time to take it on.

I am only using the build-in filters at the moment writing to the logfile, which works quite fine for me. I never used Akismet yet, although i see it on another wordpress blog i am contributing to.
when using akismet do you have an interface to see which comments got blocked? do you see it at the akismet-service page or in your s9y-admin interface? what do you see? :-p
thanks,
matsch

Hi!
I agree, a frontend would be quite nice. Supporting the full akismet "Ham/spam" operation would also be quite nice, but as judebert points out: It takes time
Note that the spamblock-plugin also offers to log to the database, which you can browse easier using phpMyAdmin...

Garvin

We know we won't get around to it immediately, and we also know we're likely to forget all about it. We say these things so others with time will know it's a good idea for them to pick it up.
Or put it on a todo list somewhere.
Sorry I've been so inactive lately, but it's only going to get worse. I'm pursuing another interest (voice acting) that might actually make me some money. And I have to get my electric car working, too. So I probably won't be around so much, and I won't be able to do much work on Serendipity.
So, somebody take a swipe at this!
