template: only left and right sidebar?

hello

for my new projekt i test wordpress, textpattern and serendity. i need a flexibility and security blog/cms.

now i have install serendipity..it was very easy. the second step is now a custom templates. but, i'm confused...in the backend i can plugins put in the left or in the right sidebar (and hide). but, how can i integrate a plugin in the footer, when i have already a left and a right sidbare? can i create a new «wrapper» in the footer for plugins?

To add more than 2 sidebars you will need to use serendipity 1.1 which is in beta state. But I think they plan to release a stable version by December. You can read more about how to do this here
