Back to weblog

Post by cleepalmer »

I have Go Daddy as a Host, and Serendipity as a "Value Added Application." On the sign in screen that users see it says "Back to Weblog" in the lower left corner. Users can just click there and avoid signing in at all. What do I do?
8) I'm OK!

Hi!

Your "frontend" of the weblog is free to all visitors! Only the backend is proteced by a login.

Usually you want visitors to read your blog, wouldn'T you? :)

Best regards,
Garvin

mmm, what you're asking for will appear to solve your problems, but in actual fact won't. Simply removing the link you refer to will still allow anyone to view your blog by typing the web address of the blog, or by bookmarking it. The link you refer to is coded into the serendipity_admin.php file and you could easily remove this, but really what you should be doing is using the user rights management facilities of Serendipity.

Its been awhile since I used version 0.82 but you should notice in your admin screen a couple of links on the left side menu that say users and groups. This is where you should be applying permissions. Have a play with this and once you've done that, ask as many questions as you need. We'll get your blog permissions sorted out.
