Hi!

The error messages says, that a file cannot be written. Did you check the permissions of your "plugins" directory? It needs to be writable for PHP, i.e. 0777 chmod permissions?

Best regards,
Garvin

I did check that. They are set as writable :?

EDIT: I just checked the directories within, and they're not writable...is that the problem?

Hi!

And does a "serendipity_event_freetag" directory exist? if it does not exist, there must be a reason why PHP cannot create the directory?

Try this test.php scripT:

Code: Select all

mkdir('serendipity_event_freetag');
save it in your 'plugins' directory and call it via browser, and then see if the directory got created?

Hi!

In the spartacus plugin, did you enter a chown/chmod username that spartacus should assign to new downloaded files?

It seems that you entered a username that does not allow PHP to further save to that directory?

don't believe i ever specified one.

Should I make it my FTP username for that domain?

EDIT: tried it. no good :(

I also tried after doing CHMOD as the root user. when i navigate there through SSH there's nothing in the event's directory, is that supposed to be empty?

Hi!

No, Spartacus is supposed to write files into that directory! However, if the permissions don't allow it, spartacus either can't write the required plugin files into there.

What owner and permissions does the directory have?

And what did you configured in chown/chmod in the spartaucs plugin? IF the directory already exists, you cannot just simply try it again, you first need to remove the directory!

Garvin

Hi!

What owner and permissions does the directory have that was created by spartacus? (serendipity_event_freetag)

(If spartacus does not work out for you, you can download the ZIP files manually from http://spartacus.s9y.org/ and extract them to the dir)

when i do change the permissions, it still doesn't install.

I'll reinstall the directories...gotta get to work :)

Thanks!

Hi Topdawg!

Which permission errors do you get? If the folders are all set to 0777, you shouldn't have a problem?!
