I searched the forums, and did find one in german that recommended using one of the anti-spam plug ins to disable the trackback. I wasn't able to get that functionality from any of the anti-spam plug ins I have.
I also did read the FAQ, and found where it spoke of disabling comments and trackbacks. But, unfortunately, I have two problems. One is, that I want to just disable trackbacks, as this is where I am having a spam problem, and the other is apparently I am too much of a noob to follow the directions in the FAQ.
Thank you in advance for your time, and I apologize for asking for more help.

Re: Disabling trackbacks
Hi!
You can disable incoming trackbacks by configuring your Anti-Spam plugin, and set the option for "Disable API comments like Trackbacks, wfwComment" to "Yes".
This option should be in Serendipity versions larger than 0.9, since the antispam plugin is bundled in all s9y versions but the option was only added since 0.9, I believe.
Best regards,
Garvin
