How can I disable POPfetch's attempts to trackback/pingback/whatever it is when it's checking for and posting email? I would like the trackback feature completely disabled on my blog. Most of my posts include MANY (hundreds) of links, and it seems as though POPFetch is attempting to do trackbacks when it's not necessary. In fact, I'm getting page timeouts when I manually perform a popfetch.
I have taken the steps to remove 'trackback' from the entries.tpl page, but this is different. The popfetch process is taking it upon itself to trackback to other urls contained in the message I've posted by email, and there is no option (that I can find) to disable this.

The approach to remove trackbacks from entries.tpl only removes the display of trackbacks.
To disable them alltogether, follow this:
