Backup plugin takes forever with html

Post by Arnold Nijboer »

A BIG hello from Holland....

I have a problem with the backup plugin, i've set it to auto backup but when i make the first backup manual the sql backup takes 5 sec or something, but the html backup takes forever (a minimum of 10 min.). zo i close the ie screen and login again.

Does somebody have a cloe on how to solve this???

Hi!

How large is your webroot, how many files do you have in the upload/ directory?

The auto-backup plugin IMHO can take a long time, so I personally don't really suggest to run the auto-mode. But that's just my personal opinion, I didn't code the plugin. :)

Best regards,
Garvin

It's just the standard serendipity 1.02 installation and some plugins, nothing else! no data, pictures or files.

Hi!

Hm, okay, I'm rather sorry then. I can'T speak much of that plugin because I haven't created it. :-/

Does it work fast when you start it from the admin panel?

Best regards,
Garvin
