media library directories

Post by r0bs »

Hi,

I am wondering how to use directories. I can create directories and make a choice when uploading a new image. But apart from that, I did not find a way to reorganize (i.e. move) previously uploaded images within directories or apply any access restrictions.

When I go to "Manage directories" in the Administration Suite (as administrator) all I can do is delete.

Can somebody please tell me, if I am missing something?

Thanks,
Robert

You can always manage via FTP, say if you want to move files (or even folders). If you decide to try it this way, don't forget to rebuild your thumbnails. :)

Or you can go to the Media Library and edit the properties of single images. I'm not sure if this is only a feature of version 1.1 though.

Hi!

In the "Manage Directories" screen you should also always see an Edit icon next to the Delete icon! This is the option you want to use to assign permissions to directories (requires serendipity 1.1!).

You can move directories or images just like that, by changing the current path to a new path. You can move a specific image by clicking on the properties of an image and choosing a different path (also requires s9y 1.1)

Many thanks for those quick answers.
I guess all I am missing is the latest beta (tried the release). :)
