Hello,
lets say I have the scripts installed on a server in western europe, how do I modify the time (in the scripts) so that it can have the correct GMT ? eg Asia.

In Serendipity 0.8 we have introduced a 'server offset time' configuration variable

No, there's no way for 0.7.1. There is quite a lot of code affected which I'm not willing to backport.
Upgrading to 0.8 is really not that hard, you shouldn't face any problems upgrading...
