New Install, Themes do not display
New Install, Themes do not display
I have tried all settings having to do with "Mod Rewrite" themes do not display, any of them. I have checked permissions on the Themes and all appropriate directories. Can anyone help a newbie?

Are you sure your web-server supports "mod_rewrite"? IT is not available on all servers. And URLs like http://www.nearingcriticality.com/archives/2006/09.html do not work and give a 404 - this is an indicator that your server doesn't support URL rewriting.
So either your hoster will enable it, or you must configure serendipity to not use URL Rewriting ("None").
