junk files sess_6c9739e6aed1b8df0a557f9b76065998

does anyone know what these files are, there seem to be over a 100 junk files like this in my folder sess_6c9739e6aed1b8df0a557f9b76065998

They're the session files. They keep track of per-visitor variables, like whether they're logged in, what database connection to use, what template they've selected, and so on. They're required, but they should be cleaned out automatically every so often. There's one for each visitor: if you visit with two browsers, it should create two new sessions files.

i kinda deleted the files, is that good or bad

It's not too bad. Anybody who was connected will likely discover that they need to log in again, or that Serendipity has "forgotten" their settings or hiccoughed. Otherwise, nobody will even notice.
