I've just got s9y installed and running, and was wondering if anyone has written a plug-in or something to send a notification email to a list of users that a new entry in the blog has been added? I know about the subscribe function on the entries, but the emails are triggered off new comments, not new entries. Hopefully I'm not missing something here and it's staring me in the face, but I can't find anything like that in the default s9y functionality or any plugins.... and I'm too doped up tonight to go look carefully (had hernia surgery today!)
Anyhow, any help or insights would be appreciated!
The "e-mail Entry" plugin will send an email to a single address whenever a new entry is created. It doesn't handle a list of addresses, though. The accepted solution is to set up a free mailing list at Yahoo or similar places, and configure the e-mail plugin to send it to the list.
Easier than that, actually. Just configure the e-mail plugin with the mailing list address, then everybody who signs up at Yahoo (or whatever mailing list you choose) gets the notification.
