Problem with Imagemagick

Post by Maverick »

hi,

i'm experiencing problems with imagemagick. every time i upload a picture into the media database, i get the error message:

"Konnte folgendes Programm nicht ausführen: "/var/www/xxx/html/interrail/imagemagick-4.2.9/convert -antialias -resize '110x110>' '/var/www/xxx/html/interrail/uploads/xxx.JPG' '/var/www/xxx/html/interrail/uploads/xxx.serendipityThumb.JPG'", Fehlermeldung: , Rückgabewert: 10"

for those of you who are not germans :) :
"Konnte folgendes Programm nicht ausführen" means "Unable to execute the following application"
"Fehlermeldung" menas "Error Message"
"Rückgabewert" means "Return Value"

i also changed the mode of the imagemagick directory and its files to 0777. but nothing works.
the picture file is being uploaded though. but there's no thumbnail.

and i also checked the path to the imagemagick-directory in the configuration menue several times.

i don't know what else to do??

i'm thankful for any advice.

In that case, it sounds like it's executing ImageMagick, but that is returning an error 10. I tried to figure out what that was without source diving, but holy cow! that's the worst-documented program I ever saw.

We generally prefer to use the GD library, anyway. Any chance you can switch while we work this out?

Hmmm. There are lots of people complaining about the lack of a return value table in ImageMagick.

Could you create a small PHP for me, called "convert_test.php", upload it to your server, and run it? The contents should be almost identical to your error message, with the addition of a -debug flag:

Code: Select all

<?php
system(
"/var/www/xxx/html/interrail/imagemagick-4.2.9/convert -debug all -antialias -resize '110x110' '/var/www/xxx/html/interrail/uploads/xxx.JPG' '/var/www/xxx/html/interrail/uploads/xxx.serendipityThumb.JPG'");
?>
That might give us some better information on what return value 10 means.
