Error in media library Serendipity 1.1

Post by hgoor »

Hi,

I'm trying to get 1.1 (latest build 09/07/06) to work on my new Ubuntu Linux server, but I run into this error when testing.

It happens when I select a thumbnail and press the DONE button...

Nothing happens and the image does not appear in the editor. When I look in hte javascript console it says:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code:
0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)
[nsIDOMNSHTMLInputElement.selectionStart]" nsresult: "0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame ::
http://192.168.1.103/serendipity_editor.js :: mozWrap :: line 37" data: no]

I have turned the "display sidebar" option on.

Also I noticed that when I click the "Toggle expand all" it doesn't collapse the tree if it is expanded (which is seems to be on default.. Instead you have to click on the + sign. I expected it to do both: expand AND collapse.

Hi!

Did you install 1.1 fresh, or was it an upgrade? Maybe there's an old serendipity_editor.js file in your browser's cache? This has happened on some other peoples installations...

Which browser are you using?

Sorry, I should provide more info (being in IT I should have kown that):

- Fresh install
- Platform: Ubuntu Linux 6.06
- double checked file permission
- Browser: Firefox 1.5.0.4 Windows XP

This is what I do:

I choose new article. I start with media. I choose a image and click ok (no comments, no pop-ups etc..) then DONE works.

Here is when it does not work (reproducable at my side at least): I click in the left navigation and choose another directory.

Using default settings I click DONE: error occurs (ie: nothing happens)..

Also reproducable in Windows IE.

Hi!

Thanks a lot! Now I can reproduce the issue. I'll fix this tomorrow! It must be a variable transmission missing once you click on a directory on the left.

Best regards,
Garvin
