setting rights back

Post by Timbalu »

Hi Garvin

I just updated some of my blogs to 1.0. Good work!
There I found a tiny problem, setting a chief-authors rights back to a normal author. But nothing changes.
Is there somethong wrong or do I produce this failure.
I can delete the chief, but I just wanted to change his rights.

Regards,
Ian

Hi!

You must not only change userlevel permissions, but also put users in different authorgroups.

The userlevels are only used for backwards compatibility; usergroups now really specify what a user is allowed to do.

Best regards,
Garvin

thats right!

But it still confuses me.
The chief is still set as 1 in userlevel and is now marked in usergroups inside group authors.
There is nothing marked in usergroup chief.
When I delete this guy all his data will be lost, I only want him to downgrade.

Use the little usergroups box to select which groups he's in. use the control key to (de) select multiple rows
