Google Ads

I did a search on here and found, I believe 3, posts regarding this, but I still can seem to get it to work. I added a google search bar at the bottom of the last entry, but now I want to add the ads on the right. I tried adding an html nugget, but instead of it appearing at the top right, it was halfway down the page. I also tried editing my templates/default/layout.php to place it, and it went everywhere, but where I wanted it. If someone could help me out, I would be very appreciative.

I just stuck it on the left until I can figure out how to put it in the right column (where its not halfway down there page). I see the php code that searches for any RHS plugins, but that isnt the actual column (to my knowledge).
