my Theme

Post by al3x »

Hello,

I have designed my own Theme. You can see it under http://www.alex83.eu
But my real Inetadress is www.alex-óÒ.de . Be carefull, some Browsers like IE6 does not support Uni code URL. That`s why the eu-Domain is the alternative adress.

I want ask, if there is an interesse for having my Theme?
Because, I have to write comments at the style.css and tpl files.

If I be honest I have changed the original "Serendipity 3.0" template from the author carl galloway. I hope he has sympathy that I used his theme as pattern. Because my PHP and CSS skills are bad.
That`s why you can still see on my blog on the footer "Designed by Carl"

P.S: My English is not good because I`m from Germany.

Alex, I'm always delighted to see new users create their own versions of templates, and that's probably the most exciting thing about Serendipity is that you can do whatever you like with them to make them suit your purpose. Go ahead and release this template with your name, there is no need to credit me. As a general rule of thumb, if you've made a template look different substantially different from the original then the new template is your own work and you no longer need to keep the original credits, but if you onlu make cosmetic changes and the original author's hard work is still quite obvious, then its a good idea to leave their credit just out of respect, but all my templates are GPL so you don't really even need to do that. The new default theme for Serendipity belongs to the project under the same license as Serendipity, and Garvin was kind enough to leave my link in, but he could have removed this if he had wanted to.

If desired, I can mail you my work of the template :)

For hosting the work, I need a little more time, because I have now exams

Don't worry about leaving my credit on your template, your used the default theme which was donated to Serendipity so all I ask is that you keep making templates for other users ;-)
