Hi there, all,
I just installed Serendipity for the first time. It looks to kick the pants of all the other blogging software out there. Rah!
I added the Shoutbox plugin. But the shouts don't show up on the blog page. Any ideas as to why this could be?
Thank you kindly,
Elizabeth

Re: Shoutbox angst
This may depend on the setting of your "URL Rewrite" option in Serendipity Configuration and the version of Serendipity you installed.
In 0.7 versions the plugin IMHO only works with Apache Errorhandling or mod_Rewrite, but not with the "none" rewrite method. This has been fixed in our current 0.8 snapshots, though...

Garvin

Interestingly, I had mod_rewrite enabled first, and that didn't work. Which is weird given what you say, 'cause I know it's enabled in my Apache conf, and functionality that depends on it in other blogging software I'm testing works fine. But, for yuks, I switched to Errorhandling. And the Shoutbox works now.
Dunno what that's about, but I thought I'd pass it along.
(v.0.7.1, fwiw)
Thanks!
