I am trying to get a new convert to the wonderful s9y! I am setting up a domain for a friend, but was wondering if there is how to import, not just the feed, but the photos posted on the old blog too.
I tried it out on supersized, but it hotlinks the photos to the old blog, which is no good.
The old blog is hosted at www.theblog.net which seams to be full of problems.

That's true, you'll need to manually copy over all images from the old blog to the new, and try to keep the paths in there as well. There sadly is no automatism for that available right now.
After import, you can also just make an SQL dump of your serendipity_entries table, use an editor to edit that file to replace all <img> tags (if you needed to change absolute URLs or paths!) and then re-import the dump...?
