author permalink using username doesn't work

When I change the permalink for authors to use the username, the link still uses the realname. That leads to the interesting problem that it also shows the wrong author, because it apparently can't find the right one with that realname as the username. The link is correct when I use id, there just seems to be a problem with username vs. realname.

Yes, I think this has been made this way because of security issues, to never reveal the login name...
