Hi!

Yes, IE cannot save proper color indexes in GIF or PNG files, so you might need to switch to JPEG to preserve a color. I've also encountered that before; one more reason why IE6 is not the better browser.

umm, just if i really want to change this one day: can i simple change the picture-format?

i think in the plugin "text format: smilies" is a .png-ending wanted. so, what about the other images?
if there is a lot to change to use jpgs i guess i'll let it as it is. but if its easy and not much work to change to .jpg's... let me know!

Hi!

You can in most cases change the picture format, if you also change the templates where you replace .png with .jpg for example.

For the emoticons, you would need to either edit the plugin file or create a config.inc.php file where you specify custom emoticons with different file extensions. This is explained in the technical docs on s9y.org somewhere *g*

I am not really sure how many places there are to edit, but I know it can be done

well, the theme looks fine, i can live with the admin-area-png-errors and i'm usually browsing with firefox. strange, on brighter images these errors aren't really visible... o0

well, if i'm _very_ bored, i'll do this workaround. but i guess this will be in... well. a time far, far in future. but it's a nice thought. using gif's for the complete blog wouldn't cause errors in any browser, i guess. and transparency can be used, too... hm... maybe i'll try this one time...

btw: the smiley-format, are you talking about the 'emoticons.inc.php'? there to declare the file-format? i'm using such a file right now - works fine, and seems to be no problem whatever format i like.
