Login problem

Post by carl »

Hello,
I made a new install and everything went fine. Logged out and was able to log in again.

Then went to personal settings and changed the comments button and saved. It asked for the old password so I put in the same, original setup password and was able to save.

However on logging out, it no longer accepts the same, original password.

Don't know what went wrong.

Thanks....carl

Ok, I fixed it. I don't know if it was a bug or not.

Here's what I did:

I had to go to phpmyadmin and made a new password by deleting the MD5 string and typing in a new password.

Clicked MD5 in the drop down box to make another hash string.

Changed the Realname

Changed to Username

Was able to login using the above data.

Usually Serendipity does not ask for a password; Firefox sometimes requests odd password changes, though, and can then mix up form fields...

Best regards,
Garvin

Hi Garvin,
Yes, I'm using the very lastest Firefox. It does have a obstinate way of handling passwords and caches.

Thanks...Serendipity is great, having a ball playing with it. Wish I had come upon it much earlier.
