Problem with posting comments.

I noticed that when posting as a guest, there's the following problem as the attaced image.

Also, when I login with the administrator user, everytime I post a comment, that comment will be 'loop' posted until PHP actually timeout or somehow failed! At the end, I'll see about 150-200 of the same message posted by myself!

Anyone else have this problem? Could it be caused by the Spam Protector (A variety of methods to prevent comment spam - version: 1.33) plugin?

Hi!

I've never heard of this. Did you check your listing of event plugins, which ones did you install? And how exactly did you configure the spamblock plugin?

Did you enable spamblock logging to the database and check the serendipity_spamblocklog DB table to see what's entered there?

I'm sure we can get this solved.

weird. Looks like the spam protector is actually helping me with my problem in actual fact.

The logs are mostly for duplicate comments posted!

That means, the problem isn't at the Spam protection but the comment posting instead. it's when the admin user is logged in that the problem is seen because Spam protection don't run when an authenticated user session is detected (default set not to block any authors). Right?

Any help?

Hi!

Does it also happen when you use a different browser like Mozilla? Can you inspect your Apache server log and see how that duplicate posting could happen?

I've never seen that before. :-/

Opps. I forgot to add that I'm actually running it on a win2k3 server with PHP installed. Would that be a problem?

So you're using IIS? I don't have much experience with it, but it should run properly. However you shouldn't active URL Rewriting on non-Apache Windows servers...

Yup. It's running on IIS. I'll try removing some of the plugins and see if it helps.

And no, non of the URL rewriting feature that relies on Apache is running.

Hmm will report back when I find out what's causing the problem.

Did you try a different browser?

I could offer to look at it, if I can get FTP access to your blog directory and a s9y account on your blog with which I can reproduce the comment-posting effect? If you want to do that, please just send me an email to "serendipity at supergarv dot de".

BTW, I have the same DSLR like you, but just with SB-600. But a Manfrotto as well.

Yeah, I just love my D70.

It was already stolen once from me, and I bought it again. For a small time I considered the EOS 350D, but it was jsut too small and lightweight, so I stuck with the Nikon.

I got a Sigma 2.8 105mm macro lens, which is awesome for closeups and it has a great quality...sadly the kit 70-300 lens from nikon is about the worst I could imagine, so I'm currently thinking on buying me a different tele-lense.

Sigma 105mm Macro? Wow. that's one nice lens!

Myself...I've just recently purchased a 35-70mm f2.8 and a 28mm f2.8 from eBay. Sending it over to my friend in US who will bring it back to me here in Malaysia in June!

Oh you might want to either get the 70-210mm f4-5.6 or a 70-200mm VR! Haha! Or the Sigma 70-300 Super APO II. I heard that lens isn't bad at all.

Myself, I have the 70-210mm f4-5.6. For the price (US$100-180 on eBay for a used one) it's really a good lens! very sharp.

I've heard about the 70-300 lens, but it weighs 2.x kg, which IMHO is quite much to carry it around with. :-/

I might think about such a 70-210mm lens; do you already have some shots of it online somewhere?
