Ok, I think your problem with the directory structure comes from a bug in Serendipity 0.9... It has been fixed in 1.0 (or 1.1, or whatever we are on now)...

The rotatation problem is out of my range of knowledge, as I don't use imagemagick... (Garvin, any thoughts?) I would suggest either talking to the server administrator about it (if that isn't you) or taking a look at your imagemagick install to make sure Serendipity is working with it correctly...
Or you could try turning imagemagick off and seeing if rotations work... But Imagemagick is faster and has better quality than using gd...

1500 photos? You're right, I probably don't want to download that...
Honestly, though, I don't feel right about playing with a live install of someone elses data... Too much can go wrong...

So, I will try to create the same environment you have and recreate the problem... If you don't mind I will quiz you on specifics of your filesystem in a private message...

I have updated the usergallery plugin to version 1.3, which should fix the errors reported by flatloop and azel. It is in CVS now, should be available to everyone within the next 24 hours or so...

The sidebar plugin is close to done, all I have left to do is timing/caching.

Thanks for the quick work Matthew, it is appreciated.

Should I report the rotate problem elsewhere in the forum?

Yeah, maybe in the bugs section... Some place where Garvin will read it...
:wink:
Did you try disabling imagemagick to see what happens?

EXIF TAGS

yes.. Usergallery now supports exif tags.

No clue what it is?

take a look at these links:
http://www.sothq.net/archives/63-userga ... -max!.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchangeab ... ile_format

Look under the image, a blue-ish table:
http://www.sothq.net/pages/gallery.html ... [image]=62
http://www.sothq.net/pages/gallery.html ... [image]=70

The options there are just a part... There are many more options. 38 to be precise! All to be configged from the admin panel. Or not use them at all. Your choice.

The layout is controlled by CSS so its easy adjustable to your theme.

Mgroeninger has put them in the cvs and a download will be available on my website soon.

I've been wanting a photo album plugin for a long time but I'm not smart enough to get one working! I appreciate the work going into this.

When you go to my gallery it will only show the first page of thumbs. If you click on the 'next page' link, it just shows the same page and even if you type in a different page numer in the address bar, it just shows the same page. I think I am using release 1.2 of the photo album plugin.

Thanks the work on this plugin again. I hope I can stop using Coppermine completely!

Thanks for the fast reply! The 'next page' link I am talking about is just in the gallery plugin by the way and not another plugin that goes to next and previous articles. I don't know if I made sense before.

Where can I get 1.4? I see only 1.2 in spartacus and on your site.

Again, thanks for the plugin. :D

heh no thanks

http://www.sothq.net/index.php?serendip ... t=5&file=7

ive put up a download of the latest version on my website :)
you were very clear in your earlier post about the buttons.

i just memorized there were problems navigating earlier with someone elses setup they got fixed in version 1.3.

i hope it works out.

Please uninstall the old version first before installing the new one. To avoid problems this will make you start with a clean setup.

Good luck :)

Where can I get 1.4? I see only 1.2 in spartacus
1.4 hasn't been added to Spartacus yet because of problems with Sourceforge's cvs... Sorry for the inconvience... I will try to add it again in a little while. You can download it from SHRIKEE for now, though... (if you don't mind installing manaully...

Honestly, though, 1.4 is unlikely to fix your problem, since we have not had anything like it reported before... And if you have changed the url manually and still not had any luck I am better it is something with the $GET variable and your setup.

Dave, do you have an example of the problem I can look at? I checked your site but you don't seem to have any pictures in the gallery... I'd like to see the url it is using...

Also, if you can post your usergallery settings (screenshots, or however you like), that might help.

Thanks for checking into it. I'm away from home for now so maybe this will help some anyway.

The gallery with the 1.4 version is here:

http://www.thecockrells.com/blog/pages/gallery.html

I can see if while on this page you hover over the 'next page' link the path is incorrect and maybe that is the only problem but not sure.

I figured the CVS problem may be why it was behind but I updated manually last night.

Thanks for checking into the problem and I appreciate the group effort on this plugin! I really want to get away from having to use something else like Coppermine or Gallery and I really appreciate you both working on this plugin.

Ok, there is something odd going on, apart from you problems with the pages... The link in the static pages sidebar should be right. The url should not have the double slash between blog and pages... Can you check the "Permalink for gallery view" setting to make sure there isn't a double slash in the string? (I don't think anything will be there... I think I introduced a bug someplace)

And can check inside "serendipity_event_usergallery.php" and see if the following lines exist?

Code: Select all

$serendipity['smarty']->assign('plugin_usergallery_httppath',$serendipity['rewrite'] != 'none'
                                ? $serendipity['baseURL'] . $permalink
                                : $serendipity['baseURL'] . $serendipity['indexFile'] . '?serendipity[subpage]='.$sub_page);
$serendipity['smarty']->assign('plugin_usergallery_httppath_extend',$serendipity['rewrite'] != 'none'
                                ? $serendipity['baseURL'] . $permalink.'?'
                                : $serendipity['baseURL'] . $serendipity['indexFile'] . '?serendipity[subpage]='.$sub_page.'&');
They should be at the beginning of the show() function...

If they are there, can you change $serendipity['baseURL'] to $serendipity['serendipityHTTPPath']? Hopefully that will get your urls working properly... If that is the case we can look into the page problem...

I got rid of the double slash thing. Sorry about that. It was there when I installed and didn't notice before all this started! I just removed it from the permalink. I changed the .php file but don't seem to see a difference but I could have done it wrong. I'll work on it some more.

Ok, cool... You can actually change the lines back to the way they were, then... I was thinking something else was wrong... I am looking into why the url in the next/previous page link is wrong... I'm concerned that the "blog" directory id showing up twice...

Are you using a custom template in your theme? (Did you copy the tpl file into the theme folder to make changes?) If so, you might take a look at the two "plugin_usergallery.tpl" files to check for differences...

Any way you can post your gallery settings?
