New User Questions : Files and Attachments

Just starting out with s9y..

Went to the "user documentation" pages and discovered that some of them (for example Add/Manage Media) appear to be empty.

So I have a quick question...

- I have quite a few PDF files that I would like to link to from s9y; can they be managed BY s9y (as a type of media) or do I just have to put them somewhere manually and use a URL to refer to them?

Secondly, is there another place where there IS more complete user-level documentation or is it on the to-do list?

On the to-do list.

PDF files (and other media) can be added to S9Y in the same way as pictures. Just use "Add Media" from the admin screen. Unfortunately, S9Y will try to generate thumbnails for it every time the thumbnails are updated; fortunately, it only takes a couple of seconds.

Then you can use the media manager to add links and such in your entries.

Yes, you can upload PDF files to the s9y media manager and then link to them from your posts.

We are in need of helping hands for completing the documentation, volunteers are needed to fill in the gaps. Maybe you would like to help us out? Any help is needed.
