Multiple Users

Post by alodoiska »

Hello everybody,

I will like to be able to offer a multiple blogs solution where each registered bloggers only have access to their postings along with personalized URL www.domain.com/username

Totally independent blogs managed by owners only.

Main page to show latest entries from bloggers along with list of all registered bloggers.

Bloggers to be able to customized their blogs independently.

Can s9y do this?

Serendipity can do that by utilizing the "Shared installation" feature described on www.s9y.org. It requires you to have server administration skills, at a setup script for implementing new users is required on your server, dependin on your setup. The s9y.org docs show you how to do that basically.

Supersized.org is an exmple for what you plan to do, and is using Serendipity. Others are listed in the s9y.org hosting provider list.

Regards,
Garvin

multiple install

Post by jn122 »

Garvin, do you guys [the developers] do any custom work - ie I am interested in testing serendipity for multiple user blogs but am not profficient enough to dare tying the install as documented at http://www.s9y.org/41.html

If you guys don't is development advanced enough to have a listing of customisation providers?

thanks in advance

Hi!

Did you look at the latest work contribution by Chris LAnder: http://blog.s9y.org/archives/120-Shared ... tions.html

That might help you a lot!

There might be interested developers doing such things; you might want to contact Jannis personally about that!

Best regards,
Garvin
