I downloaded the 1.0 beta 2 to do a fresh install for a new blog everything went fine. I can view my now blog which has no entries. But, when I try to open the administration suite it won't let me log in.
I did a little investigating on how to reset passwords and learned about the serendipity_config_local.php file, but it is not on my webserver or in the zip file that I downloaded (Minnesota mirror if that helps).
Now I'm kind of stuck. I'm trying to use the config_local.php from another 1.0beta1 blog and see if I can't get it to work.
Just thought you would want to know that the file is missing from the installation zip.

That file is created when you install Serendipity. It is not contained inside the installation zip, because it holds only the information needed to connect to your database.
You should not be able to use serendipity without that file, because it should always give you the installation screen with a missing config_local...?!
To me this sounds like a permission mismatch problem?

Garvin
