Hi I recently installed serendipity on my subdomains for poets use. None of us are very good at figuring out new stuff and the answer is probably right in front of my face.
I would like to know how to make a welcome/front page that is stationary and doesn't move down as posts are made.
Thank you
Lynne

Lynne, this isn't in front of your nose, but is easily done. You need to make sure you have the 'Extended properties for entries' event plugin installed. I'm not sure if this is installed by default, but if it isn't simply select 'configure plugins' once you've logged into your blog, then scroll down till you come to the event plugins. If the extended plugin isn't installed click the link to install additional plugins.
Once the extended properties plugin is installed, create a new entry (the one you want to use as your introductory post) and when you save it, click the checkbox that says 'Mark this entry as a Sticky Post'
Thats it, you ready to go. By the way if you want to be able to download new or different plugins from the Serendipity website, also make sure you install the spartacus plugin. Welcome to Serendipity, and good luck. Be sure to let us all know when your new blog is ready to go so we can be nosy and have a look at it.
See ya,
Carl

Well thank you so much. I think I can do that. I also have a site and making poets individual sites using serendipity as it is easy for them to do rather then a whole new site setup. They are members of my forum also.
We are all new at this so hopefully will get it in time.
Please do check out the site.

The first blog we tried to start and the personal sites links listed are all serendipity. Don't quite have it down exactly how it is all supposed to work ot look, but since none of us know what we're doing, the mistakes aren't noticed and everyone loves them. Lol
Thank you for your time and help, much appreciated.
