Another RSS newbie ...

Post by Manuel »

... is trying to get the hang of it. Me. (Sorry if this is slightly off-topic - it's not a s9y-specific topic, anyway.)

I've tried using Thunderbird and Akkregator (an RSS reader for KDE). Both programs only ever fetch the last 15 articles of an RSS feed. In my blog, there currently are less than 90, and I want to get them all if that's possible. But there seems to be no way of breaching the magical 15 articles barrier in the reader software.

Does anybody know how to change that? I mean, it should be up to the user to decide how many articles they want, shouldn't it?

The 'magical' barrier does not come from the reader, but from the feed. s9y puts only the last 15 entries (or comments in case of the comment feed) into the feed. I don't know exactly why, but I guess it might have to do with the size of the feed. Maybe one of the gurus around can tell you whether (and how) that limit can be released.

Since serendipity 1.1 you can configure the amount of entries in your RSS feed.

You can also get your whole entry feed by using an URL like "http://yourblog/rss.php?version=2.0&all=1".
